BiographY

Fiona Monbet, the Franco-Irish violinist, was born in Paris in 1989. She graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris where she studied classical violin under Alexis Galpérine and Ami Flammer, as well as the Centre des musiques de Didier Lockwood (CMDL), and the Lille Conservatory in orchestral conducting.

Launched by Didier Lockwood in the world of improvisation techniques and contemporary music, Fiona today works with a variety of artists from quite different horizons including Biréli Lagrène, Patricia Petibon, Pierre Cussac, Vladimir Cosma, and film director Tony Gatlif working on the sound tracks for three of his films (Indignez-Vous, Les Indignés, Geronimo).

In January 2018, Fiona joined the musical direction team of the Miroirs Étendus company, which includes her chamber music partner, the pianist Romain Louveau, to create the Miroirs Étendus orchestral ensemble made up of fifteen musicians.
